Description

There are many great tools for hand plucking, one of which is stones. This may seem a bit strange at first glance, but they are actually an excellent, very effective instrument to help you achieve the natural look you desire for your dog. With the Show Tech Groom Stones, you can pull dead and loose hairs from a rough coat without damaging it. They are also fantastic for quickly removing stubborn pet hair from your couch, carpet, car seats, or other dust-covered surfaces.

Your first step towards success

This professional, durable grooming stone can be used as a tool for hand plucking and to remove loose hairs, achieving a smoother, more beautiful finish. It is perfect for use on show dogs and allows you to pull loose and dead hairs from a rough coat without damaging it. The uneven surface of the stone catches loose hairs, making the Groom Stone fantastic for removing loose hairs from any surface, even from clothing and fabric furniture!

This tool is ideal for hand-plucking show dogs, for situations where every individual hair is important and when the hairs need to be plucked by hand in their full length without damaging or breaking them. It is also very suitable for restoring a poor coat, for example, if your beloved four-legged friend’s coat has been clipped, shaved, or plucked with a sharp trimming tool. By regularly pulling out the soft dull hairs from root to tip, space is created in the hair follicles for healthy coarse hairs!  What makes these stones unique is that they are specially designed to be used on light-colored or gray coats. Unlike our traditional black trimming stones, they leave almost no residue on light-colored coats. Because they are made from a denser material, they also retain their shape longer and wear out less quickly than the black trimming stones, which are made from a softer material.

Thanks to the very lightweight design with rounded corners, the Show Tech Groom Stone fits perfectly in your palm and provides a comfortable grip. This trimming tool is a pleasure to use!

It's all in the details

Perfect for plucking rough-haired breeds such as terriers, schnauzers, spaniels, and all other coats that need to be hand-plucked, for short-haired dogs that shed year-round, and for horses and cats. Used to remove dead and loose hair from the coat without damaging the hair. "Can also be used to remove stubborn hairs from your couch, carpet, car seats, or other fabric-covered surfaces. Great for restoring a damaged or soft coat that has been shaved or improperly plucked. The perfect choice for white and light-colored dogs."

  • Odorless
  • Light and easy to use
  • Has a round shape to fit perfectly in your hand
  • "Does not break easily and leaves less residue than traditional trimming stones."
  • Available in white and gray
  • Made of pumice stone
  • Dimensions: 8.5 x 4.9 x 2 cm

Note: Plucking should not hurt your dog. When the hairs are ready to come out of the coat, you are essentially just pulling out the dead hairs. These should come out easily.

Instructions

If you want to use the stone on larger surfaces (horses, large dogs, or carpets and such), you can use it in its full size. Do you want the stone to fit in the palm of your hand? Then it can be cut into a smaller piece with a comb or knife so that it fits better in your palm. Once the trimming stone is cut and ready for use, it's time to start trimming. Take the stone in your dominant hand and hold the dog's skin firmly with the thumb of your other hand. Then comb using the trimming stone in the direction of hair growth to remove the undercoat. Do this with a gentle motion and without applying too much pressure. This is one way to use the Groom Stone. There is also another way. Hold the stone in your palm and while making a combing motion on the coat, apply pressure with your thumb and other fingers. This way, you can grab and hold the hairs between your fingers and the stone. It is even easier when you use your other hand to lift a few hairs from the coat. With your fingers or a brush, you can better see where to pull. Repeat this until the desired length is achieved. If you want to make it more comfortable for the dog, we recommend using your free hand to slightly stretch the skin just above the area where you want to pull the hairs.
